About

The effects of the pandemic have hugely accelerated the gender care gap for working parents. More women having faced furlough, being the primary carer, and being more at risk of unemployment, compared to men...

Yet, we also seem to be on the cusp of change, and a growing awareness of that imbalance, after we have all had to adapt to working from home. With more employers acknowledging that flexible working can be just as effective in our industry, are we at a point where we can positively challenge the previous status quo for everyone and help break the cycle?

How can we advocate positive change? To encourage more flexible working (for everyone), a greater balance of parental leave and responsibility in the workplace, bring a greater awareness of child/reproductive related career stigmas for both women and men into the open, and encourage courageous conversations to help change work culture?

Come join us and our AMAZING panel, including Anna Whitehouse (AKA Mother Pukka), Dan Reed (Founder of Career Dad), Andrea Thompson (Editor in Chief of Marie Claire) , and Natalie Marshall-Foxwell (Managing Partner PHD North) for some exciting discussion and debate.

Bloom North is a not for profit organisation. Ticket costs will help cover any running costs, with the rest going to our elected social enterprise girlsoutloud.org.uk for 2021.
